Wisdom And Length Of Days

According to the scripture happiness comes from wisdom and the only good wisdom is that of the Lord.  The scripture said that length of days is in one hand and riches and honor.  Solomon only got one, but why if He had wisdom?

In 1 Kings the Lord told Solomon, “…if you walk in My ways, to keep My statues and My commandments…then I will lengthen your days.”  Notice anything different?  Because Solomon was under the old covenant the only way to be fully blessed was to perfectly keep the law which was impossible.  So because he could not, his days were not lengthened, which is in wisdom’s right hand.

However, the great news is that today, because we are under the new covenant of grace, Jesus is at the Father’s right hand and He is our wisdom.  And when we have Jesus, we can be blessed with the two hands of wisdom because of His finished work on the cross.  This means that riches and honor, as well as length of days, belong to us!  What an awesome God we serve!

If you pursue Jesus, you will experience wisdom in every area of your life.  You cannot try to earn, deserve or study to acquire God’s wisdom.  It comes by His unmerited favor.  His wisdom will give you good success and to succeed in whatever you do.  Whatever your crisis today depend on the Lord for His wisdom.  There are no “real problems”, only “idea problems.”  Trust that the Lord will bless you with the wisdom from heaven to cause everything that you touch to prosper.

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding…Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor.   —   Proverbs 3:13-16

Because of Jesus’ finished work on the cross, riches and honor, as well as length of days, belong to us!

Have Confidence In The Unmerited Favor Of Jesus

This is another short but sweet devotion but the message is powerful.  There are countless examples in the Bible and in the world today about being in the right place at the right time.  I have had countless examples looking back in my past were I have not been able to explain it but I just have been in the right place at the right time.  I have had countless times where my plans have not worked out because God had different plans for me and positioned me in the perfect place in the perfect timing.  My plans are generally the wrong timing at the wrong place and it is why my plans generally do not work.  However, I have learned that if I simply trust in the Lord that I will be positioned to have success in His perfect timing and His perfect placing.

In the bible I love the story of Ruth.  She was a poor widow who had nothing.  Her mother-in-law Naomi left their family and were in extreme poverty.  They did not even have grain.  Ruth said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.”  Ruth was confident that God would give her favor even though she was a foreigner and had no connections with anyone in the field.  She didn’t even know whose part of the field she would be able to glean in.

Ok so let’s look at what happened.  Ruth went in the field with her “hap” and went into the part of the field that belonged to Boaz.  The word “hap” is an old English word it means “to happen” to be at the right place.  However, in the original Hebrew text, the root of this word is the word qarah! (as we talked about yesterday).  The Lord’s perfect timing and placing put Ruth in that field.  Boaz saw her and fell in love with her and they married.  Before the meeting she was in her lowest point with everything in the natural against her.  But, Ruth trusted in the Lord and He positioned Her in His timing and His placing that was perfect for her.  It was so perfect in fact that she was named in the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew.  Wow, that is awesome!!!

No matter what natural circumstances may be against you today, have confidence in the grace of Jesus and He will give you what I call “qarah success.”  He will cause you to be positioned at the right place at the right time to experience His protection and success in your relationships, career, finances and health!!!

And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers; and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz; who was of the kindred of Elimelech.   —   Ruth 2:3

Have confidence in the unmerited favor of Jesus and He will cause you to be positioned at the right place at the right time to experience success.

The Power of Jesus’ Blood

It just does not seem possible that God who is all knowing can forget sin but you have to remember one thing; God cannot lie.  If He states it in His Word then we have to take it as face value because He simply cannot lie.  So He means it when He says that He will remember your sins no more.  Our only part in the new covenant is to believe that God indeed remembers our sins no more!

The blood has all the power to forgive your sins and that is dangerous to the enemy because the enemy wants to try and convince you that you are not completely forgiven.  If the enemy can get you to think this way he will get you to be sin-conscious, defeated, condemned, fearful of God and caught in a vicious circle of failure.

Back in the old covenant the pure and innocent blood of bulls and goats temporarily had to be shed to cover sins.  Jesus blood is pure, it is innocent and it is without sin but the difference is the shedding of his blood and His sacrifice covered us forever.  No other sacrifices have to be made because the pure and perfect lamb had His blood shed once and for all for our sins and wrongdoings.

There is no compromise on the Gospel of Jesus, there is no middle ground.  Forgiveness of sins is based on His grace alone and we have access into this grace by faith.  The only thing, the only part we have in the new covenant is to simply believe that truth.  There is no more, there is no less, it is not more complicated than that.  Our only part is to remove the works from our brain and simply rest in the finished work of Christ.  That is what makes it the good news.  You remove His blood and the gospel is removed.  Simply believe my friend, that is all.  Remember right believing always leads to right living.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.   —   Ephesians 1:7

If the enemy can get you to believe the lie that you are not completely forgiven, and keep you sin-conscious, he will be able to keep you defeated, condemned, fearful of God and caught in a vicious circle of failure.

We are not priests. We are royal high priests!

Believers Worship at David’s Tabernacle
Many Christians are ignorant of one fact. They are royal preists. They are not just normal preists. The difference is significant and important. We are not from the line of Aaron. We are from the line of David. Like Melchizedek, David was both king and preist. What is the big deal you say? Well it has to do with the tabernacles Aaron and David. Aaron was a preist in the tabernacle of Moses. David built his own tabernacle. I am reproducing an article from Paul White to show you why to me it is a HUGE DEAL. It is as huge as LAW AND GRACE.

Amos 9:11-12

11 “In that day  “I will restore David’s fallen shelter— I will repair its broken walls and restore its ruins— and will rebuild it as it used to be,

12 so that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the nations that bear my name,” declares the LORD, who will do these things.

In Acts 15, the Apostle James speaks to the assembled apostles and preachers at the council in Jerusalem. The council was held so that the Jewish apostles could determine what they should say and preach to the new Gentile converts regarding the observance of Jewish law. In his speech, James quotes our text from the book of Amos, placing Amos’ prophecy in New Testament times, not far off in some future millennium.

James states that the advent of Jesus and His death on the cross has brought back the tabernacle of David. Even the least experienced Bible student knows that the tabernacle was built by Moses, many years before David came along, and that David’s son Solomon constructed the temple. So when and where was there ever a tabernacle of David?

David decided that the Ark of the Covenant had been missing from Jerusalem for too long. Moses’ tabernacle was set up in Gibeon, but David wanted to bring the presence of the Lord to the capital of Israel and Judah, so he had a cart constructed so that the Ark could be rolled in. On the way, one of David’s men touched the Ark as it was shaking on the cart and he fell over dead. David was frightened of the Ark’s power so he took it to the nearest house, the home of a Gentile named Obed-edom.

Obed-edom means, “Servant of Edom”. Edom is another name for Esau, showing us that this man was actually a descendent of Jacob’s brother Esau. For the next 3 months, blessings are poured on the house of Obed-edom, and as David hears of this, he becomes a bit envious in his spirit, desiring that God would bless him with such goodness. This prompts David to take the Ark out of Obed-edom’s house and bring it up to Jerusalem, this time with priests carrying it, as Moses had been instructed.

David places the Ark in a tabernacle that he pitches for it (2 Samuel 6:17). 1 Chronicles 15:1 tells us that this “tabernacle” is a tent. David seems unconcerned with placing the Ark in the Holy of Holies, in the tabernacle at Gibeon, for he makes no effort to do so. Instead, he leaves it in Jerusalem, basking off of the same blessings that were on it while in the house of Obed-edom. Through all of this he had learned that God’s blessings were not on the tabernacle, but on the Ark, and that God would bless all who approached it, even an unworthy Gentile.

James references this prophecy because of what Christ’s finished work has accomplished. Under the Old Covenant, God was to be feared and placed at a distance. Only the high priest ever saw the ark while it was in the tabernacle, and that only once per year. David is hearkening forward to a better covenant built upon better promises, when all of God’s people can go boldly into the presence of the Lord and have their moment at the mercy seat of heaven, covered by the blood of the precious, spotless Lamb.

Believers no longer worship a distant entity, but a living God. Because Christ lives in us, we worship at David’s tabernacle, where God’s presence is always right where we are. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and God dwells in us (1 Corinthians 6:19). Just as in David’s tabernacle, the blessings are not on the tent, but on the Ark in the tent. The blessings that we experience are not because of us but because of our Jesus in us! Therefore, His blessings are not dependent on how good we are or how consecrated we may be, but rather they are dependent on how good Jesus is. As Amos said, even the remnant of Edom and all of the heathen are called by the name of the Lord (Amos 9:12).

Power From Jesus’ Body To Yours

Matthew 26:26 … “Take, eat; this is My body.”

Can you imagine the Lord sick, nursing a cold or fever while He walked on earth? No, our Lord Jesus was never sick! He was vibrant, full of life and full of health. When He told His disciples, “Take, eat; this is My body”, they could practically visualize what it meant because they had lived and walked with this Man. They had seen people without hands or feet made whole when they touched His body. (Matthew 15:30–31)

Even His clothes were soaked with His health! A woman who had a bleeding condition for 12 years — no doctor could cure her — was healed immediately when she touched the hem of His garment. If the hem of His garment was soaked with His health, vibrancy, energy and divine radiance, how much more His body!

You know, some of the most encouraging verses in the Gospels are these: “And as many as touched Him were made well” (Mark 6:56), for “power went out from Him and healed them all”. (Luke 6:19) I love those verses! That is our Jesus!

The Bible says that they put sick people along the streets, and Jesus walked around, touched them and healed them. Now, you see movie stars doing this: They run here and there, they slap their fans’ hands, but nobody gets healed. But wherever Jesus walked, whoever He touched, He healed. Picture this: A trail of people. Those in front of Jesus are lying down, but those behind Him whom He has touched are leaping with joy and following Him! That is how Jesus healed the sick.

So that night, when He said, “Take, eat; this is My body,” as He broke the bread and gave it to His disciples to eat, they knew what it meant. They were probably thinking, “We are going to ingest His health into our bodies! Hallelujah!”

That is what you must believe when you partake of the Holy Communion. It is not just a ritual or symbolic act. No, you must believe that He is the true bread from heaven who took your cancer, diabetes and heart disease, so that you can have His supernatural health! And when you eat of His broken body with this revelation, you will have life in abundance and the health of the Lord!
