Be Righteousness-Conscious And Experience Every Blessing

Our scripture today is a very popular one but only the first part is generally quoted, the secret to unleashing this promise of protection and your inheritance in Christ is the verse quoted fully.  You see, beloved, it is when you know that your righteousness is from the Lord that no weapon formed against you will prosper, and every tongue of accusation, judgment and condemnation that rises against you will fail!

For most of us it is easy for us to confess we are righteous when everything is going well but lets talk about when times are tough.  When times are tough is when the devil will come against you and scream thoughts of condemnation toward you.  Friend, that is the time to start speaking your righteousness, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper.  The accuser want you to focus on your performance, and if you go into the realm of the law, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect.  But if you maintain your belief that you are righteous in Christ irregardless of your circumstances, the promise of Abraham and all the blessings of being an heir of the world will be unleashed into every aspect of your life.

Faith often is used for material things such as a car or job and the devil has no problem with this as long as your faith is not used for the most important thing — believing that you are righteous by faith in Jesus.  Once you focus and channel all your faith in that direction, not only will the accuser lose his power over you, all the blessings that you desire will also be added you!

One thing to remember that is very important is that we do not deserve the blessing of Abraham.  That is why it is so important for us to know we are righteous by faith.  We are not getting what our own righteousness deserves.  We are getting what Jesus’ righteousness deserves.  We did nothing right, but Jesus did everything right on our behalf!  This is grace — God’s undeserved, unearned and unmerited favor.  His grace is the key to becoming an heir of the world and to experience the full blessings of Abraham.
What

What did Abraham believe?  He believed that God justifies the ungodly.  Take some time to meditate on this.  God wants you to use your faith to believe that even when you have failed, He is a God who justifies the ungodly and makes them righteous.  That is grace.  Put your faith in His grace instead of your works.  Being righteous is not based on your perfect performance.  It is based on His perfect work.  Your part is to use your faith to believe that you are indeed righteous by faith, so that you will reign in this life, become an heir of the world, and live an overcoming and victorious life.

When you believe that you are righteous and you are indeed an heir of the world then Jesus becomes your source.  When you put your faith in your body and put your faith in the works you will ALWAYS fail.  When you put your faith that you are righteous irregardless of your accomplishments then you will always SUCCEED!!!

My friends, God wants to intervene in your life and give you good success.  This is impossible when you make the choice to be under the law and put your faith in your hard work.  When you put your faith in your righteousness through Christ, God will begin to work in you, changing your heart, your mind and your wisdom.  He will work through you and show you that you are righteous even when you fail.

You see, when you put your faith in Jesus we are getting what righteousness deserves.  When we put our faith in Jesus and we proclaim our righteousness we are not putting our faith in our works but rather in Him and who we are in Him.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.  This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.   —   Isaiah 54:17

God wants you to use your faith to believe that even when you have failed, He is a God who justifies the ungodly and makes them righteous.  This is grace.

Worldly Wisdom Versus God’s Wisdom

My friends you can depend on the Lord’s wisdom to succeed and wisdom from the Lord comes from His grace.  It is not something you can study for or acquire by your own doing, the wisdom of the Lord is not something that the world can have.  There is wisdom in the world but it is flawed because it is all based on what we need to do or change or accomplish to be able to succeed in this world.  Most books, coaches and advice is based on human wisdom which strengthens and builds up only in the flesh.

Wisdom from most books is what we call “self-help” but the reality is we do not need more of “self-help”, we need more of the Lord’s help.  The books and advice that we seek should be that of leaders who are encouraging us to look to Jesus and not ourselves.

As we read in Psalm 1 – blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly.  This means there is counsel in human wisdom but the man who does not walk according to the wisdom of the world is the man who is blessed.  However a few verses later it says that if a man has his delight in Jesus, and he meditates on Jesus day and night, “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper.”

Make a decision to walk in the counsel of the godly and not in the counsel of the world, and you will see whatever you do prosper.  In Him you will find all the wisdom that pertains to life and the great news is there are plenty of men and women who are established in the truths of the new covenant of grace.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly…   —   Psalm 1:1

What we need is not more “self-help.”  What we need is the Lord’s help.

Won Over By God’s Grace

We all know that living right is living clean, we know that it is good to be addiction free and sin free.  We know it is good to act good and to be good but being good and acting good will never make us holy.  We continually strive to be good and act good because we believe it is how we live, and although I obviously agree that acting good is good for us, it will never make us holy.

So the question today is how do we act good?  If acting and being good is good but not holy how do we turn from bad to good?  Does hearing the law being preached and right from wrong the motivator to change or is there greater motivation in knowing that there is zero condemnation when you are in Christ?

The law never has and never will be able to free any of us from or give us the ability to overcome weaknesses, destructive habits and addictions.  There is no liberation in being told what to do or believing that God condemns you for your failures.  If you believe that God condemns you for your wrong doing then how likely are you to run to Him?

The realization of no-condemnation is one of the most important revelations that you can have.  When you realize that God does not condemn you then you are willing and wanting to run to Him with open arms.  Jesus looked tenderly at the woman caught in adultery and said, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours?  Has no one condemned you?”  She said, “No one, Lord.”  And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

The Ten Commandments in all their holiness cannot make you holy and cannot put an end to sin.  The power to stop sin from destroying your life comes from receiving the gift of no condemnation from Jesus.  Your Savior, who has fulfilled the law on your behalf, says to you, “Where are those who condemn you?  NEITHER DO I CONDEMN YOU.  Now, go and sin no more.”  This is grace, my friend.  When you know that Christ has made you righteous apart from your works, and that He has perfected you by His unmerited favor, that will give you the ability to overcome ever sinful temptation, habit and addiction in your life!

For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.   —   Romans 6:14

It is vital for you to receive the gift of no condemnation because that is what will give you the power to overcome your weaknesses, destructive habits and addictions.

Come As You Are To Jesus

As I have stated several times you are accepted by God because of His grace and NEVER because of your works.  Even if your life is a mess, He can take your mess and make it into something beautiful.  Come as you are to Jesus.

Many times people will think they have to get in their life in order before coming to Jesus.  They will say, “I need to get my life in order before coming to church.”  Sound ridiculous? It happens quite a bit in churches all around the world.  I heard a terrific response from someone, the response is so simple even our children can understand.

“Do you clean yourself before you take a bath?”  Of course not.  When you come to God He and not you is your bath.  When you are dirty he cleanses you and washes you.  In the natural when you are dirty you cannot clean yourself without water, the bathtub is useless without the water pouring into it.  In the same way you cannot clean yourself and you never will be able to.  God is the water and is the only solution to cleansing and cleaning a dirty person such as yourself and myself.

The truth of the matter is if you try and use your own efforts to clean yourself you become dirtier.  The ability to make you righteous, new and whole is only from God.  It NEVER and I mean NEVER is about your works, good deeds, loyalty, persistence or dedication.  It always is about Him and if you allow Him to love you then you will become whole.  You never ever will be able to ever qualify yourself for God’s blessings.  You are made holy, righteous and clean by the blood of Jesus Christ, and it is His righteous standing that qualifies you — nothing more and nothing less.

Go to Jesus with all your mess, all your addictions, all your weaknesses and all your failures.  God loves you just as you are.  However, He also loves you too much to let you stay the same.

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,   —   Psalm 30:11

You are made holy, righteous and clean by the blood of Jesus Christ, and it is His righteous standing that qualifies you — nothing more and nothing less.

The Power of Jesus’ Blood

It just does not seem possible that God who is all knowing can forget sin but you have to remember one thing; God cannot lie.  If He states it in His Word then we have to take it as face value because He simply cannot lie.  So He means it when He says that He will remember your sins no more.  Our only part in the new covenant is to believe that God indeed remembers our sins no more!

The blood has all the power to forgive your sins and that is dangerous to the enemy because the enemy wants to try and convince you that you are not completely forgiven.  If the enemy can get you to think this way he will get you to be sin-conscious, defeated, condemned, fearful of God and caught in a vicious circle of failure.

Back in the old covenant the pure and innocent blood of bulls and goats temporarily had to be shed to cover sins.  Jesus blood is pure, it is innocent and it is without sin but the difference is the shedding of his blood and His sacrifice covered us forever.  No other sacrifices have to be made because the pure and perfect lamb had His blood shed once and for all for our sins and wrongdoings.

There is no compromise on the Gospel of Jesus, there is no middle ground.  Forgiveness of sins is based on His grace alone and we have access into this grace by faith.  The only thing, the only part we have in the new covenant is to simply believe that truth.  There is no more, there is no less, it is not more complicated than that.  Our only part is to remove the works from our brain and simply rest in the finished work of Christ.  That is what makes it the good news.  You remove His blood and the gospel is removed.  Simply believe my friend, that is all.  Remember right believing always leads to right living.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.   —   Ephesians 1:7

If the enemy can get you to believe the lie that you are not completely forgiven, and keep you sin-conscious, he will be able to keep you defeated, condemned, fearful of God and caught in a vicious circle of failure.

Medical Facts About Speaking In Tongues – Carl R. Peterson, M.D

Dear Friends,

First a caveat, I am not a Charismatic but I am fortunate to recieve the gift of tongues even without anyone laying his or her hands on me.

Secondly, this note is not only for people who do not believe in the gift of tongues but those who don’t understand why God would give such a gift as his first gift to the church and whether is it relevant today.

I ask that you read it with an open mind. My intention is to bring praise to God for such a gift and pray that those of you who have recieve such a gift use it for His glory. To those who do not think it is relevant- think again. To those who has it but do not use it – Use it. To those who abuse it – Speak with understanding. Grace and peace to you.

“The Physical Benefit of Speaking in Tongues

God has made provision for you and I to be whole, to be well and to have access to His healing process. There is a study that has been done by Dr. Carl Peterson, M.D. (the husband of author and evangelist Vickie Jamison Peterson). This Study revealed that there is an available healing power that can be released from our own bodies for our own benefit. Dr. Carl Peterson, M.D. worked on this study at ORU in Tulsa, Oklahoma a few years ago. Being a brain specialist he was doing research on what the relationship was between the brain and praying or speaking in tongues. Some amazing things were discovered.

Through research and testing he found out that as we pray in the Spirit, or worship in the Spirit, (our heavenly language) there is activity that begins to take place in our brain. As we engage in our heavenly language the brain releases 2 chemical secretions that are directed into our immune systems giving a 35 to 40 percent boost to the immune system. This promotes healing within our bodies. Amazingly this secretion is triggered from a part of the brain that has no other apparent activity in humans and is only activated by our Spirit led prayer and worship.

Before the fall of man did God in His perfect creation provide for the total healing of mankind in this manner? As Adam walked and communicated with the Father in the Garden was this close and intimate fellowship and communication causing divine health to flow in his body? Just something for us to think about. God is the restorer of all things. As we exercise our life in the “Spirit” by speaking in our heavenly language that He has put within us, we are touching the supernatural power of God and we are letting Him restore part of what was lost.

Now science has proved the process and you and I can turn this healing process on by our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Just one more great reason to be filled with the Holy Spirit and commune with the Father in your “Heavenly Language.” According to the Holy Spirit, speaking through the apostle Paul: “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself” (1 Corinthians 14:4). We always thought of the edification as only spiritual edification, which is great and always needed, but Christian psychiatrist Carl R. Peterson, M.D. describes physical edification also! Isn’t God amazing?

We have found on the Internet documentation from Dr. Peterson’s office, which is below. As a matter of reference, Dr. Peterson is highly respected, as a psychiatrist and as a Christian.

PLEASE NOTE: Dr. Peterson begins his attachment by specifically referring to praying in the spirit (speaking in tongues), then begins to just use the words prayer or praying. Throughout his paper he is referring to speaking in tongues, as that is the context of the whole paper, and is as introduced by his letter.

Dear friend,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the relationship of extended periods of praying in tongues and joyful laughter to brain activity. As you will read in the enclosed explanation, I shared some information concerning this with several ministers at a gathering some time ago. I pray this information will be helpful to you.

Respectfully,
Carl R. Peterson, M.D.”

EFFECTS OF EXTENDED VERBAL PRAYER
I have had a number of inquiries concerning the efficacy of praying in the spirit (speaking in tongues) and its benefit to the human immune system, i.e., immunity enhanced by chemicals released from a part of the brain. I am attempting to clarify some information I have shared with a number of ministers. This is information that may be deduced from what we know about the way the brain functions. We do know the part of the brain affected most noticeably by extended prayer represents a significant portion of the brain and its metabolic activity. Therefore, voluntary speech during extended vocal prayer causes a major stimulation in these parts of the brain (mainly the hypothalamus).

The hypothalamus has direct regulation of four major systems of the body, mainly: a) the pituitary gland and all target endocrine glands;
b) the total immune system;
c) the entire autonomic system; and
d) the production of brain hormones called endorphins and enkephalons, which are chemicals the body produces and are 100-200 times more powerful than morphine.

In summary, a very significant percentage of the central nervous system is directly and indirectly activated in the process of extended verbal and musical prayer over a period of time. This results in a significant release of brain hormones which, in turn, increases the body’s general immunity. It is further enhanced through joyful laughter with increased respirations and oxygen intake to the brain, diaphragm and other muscles. This same phenomenon is seen in physical activity in general, i.e., running, etc.

We know from the Word of God that there is a true joy that builds and sustains. Nehemiah tells us the joy of the Lord is our strength. There is joy in the presence of Jehovah. We, as believers having entered into that wonderful presence of our Lord, know this to be true. What we must continue to remember is that the joy of the Lord spoken of in the Word is so much more than any manifestation. We can truly have that unspeakable joy in the face of any trials we may encounter, if our joy is grounded in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I hope the above information helps to clarify the report you received regarding my statement in the area of the physical effects of speaking in tongues and joyful laughter for extended periods of time. Truly, we all benefit — body, soul, and spirit — from obedience and yielding to the Spirit of God in every area of our lives.

Freedom From Destructive Habits

I cannot even begin to comprehend how many organizations, groups and things that are devoted to reduce or help cope with destructive habits.  Many of these organizations and groups are wonderful things that provide a great service to many people who are hurting very badly.  However I believe there is one thing many of these groups lack when it comes to coping with destructive habits.  The belief that knowing they are completely spotless in Christ is the secret and key to overcoming addictions and destructive habits.  I can speak on this because I have been in many destructive habits and the thing that liberated me the most when I finally realized that I was completely righteous and blameless in God’s sight because of Christ.

Many times when you focus on destructive habits you focus on the habits that you were once in.  Part of your recovery is to be continually conscious of the behavior you are trying to escape, while I think many groups are successful in their treatment of addictions I believe too much focus on the bad habit itself can lead to sin consciousness.  However, if you are focused on who you are in Christ and focused that you are completely righteous and blameless before God, the focus is then on His goodness and your goodness through Him, not what you lack.

Johnny Mercer once sung, “You’ve got to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative.”  Now I may not be a doctor or be a trained psychologist but I am proficient in God’s favor and I can tell you that from my experience that the key to overcoming bad habits it to focus on who I am because of God’s goodness and less focus on who I was when I was not walking as closely in the presence of God.  The more and more God is in your life (completely by your choice) the more sin and addictions have no place in your life.

When you realize that God loves you unconditionally despite your failures the more and more you will realize there is no condemnation for you.  And no matter what your failures are, in Christ you are still not condemned.  You are once and always washed perfectly by His blood.  This gift happens the second you accept Him and from there on forward.

..And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”   —   John 8:11

As Jesus is spotless and without blame, so are you in Christ.
