You Can Never Forfeit The Presence Of God

May 23, 2011

As hard as you try, as bad as you are and as much as you want to hide, God will never leave you or forsake you.  I have known a lot of people that will say that they do not feel God’s presence and will even tell God to leave them or refuse His presence.  Do you know that even in those situations that the presence of the Lord is still present?  His presence is not dependent on our compliance or actions but completely dependent on His goodness.  We may not feel God’s presence but He is still there.  We may not even want Him there or know what we are doing but He is still there.

We may not control whether His presence is there or not but we can control how much His presence affects our lives.  The true and completely unfair part of Grace is that it is there for us all the time, even when we reject it.  If we choose not to live in His presence then consequently we cannot expect God’s blessings to flow fully in our lives.  It is when we accept His presence and live in His presence that the favor will fully flow because we are allowing it in.  God will not beat down our door but He will always stand at the doorstep.  Please do not mistake his presence and the willingness for us to accept His presence.  His presence is always there and never will leave us but it is up to us to accept His presence.  The beauty is that no matter how much you reject Him, turn your back on Him or do wrong He will never leave you or forsake you.

On the cross Jesus was forsaken by God because that is where the divine exchange took place.  At the cross Jesus took our sins and gave up the presence of God, while we took Jesus’ righteousness and received the presence of God that Jesus had.  God’s presence is now ours for eternity!

In the scripture it says that God will never leave us nor forsake us.  However if we look at the original Greek text when God said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” a “double negative” is used to convey the strongest sense of “never” possible in the Greek language.  The Greek words ou me are used, which in essence means, “never never” or “never ever.”  And this double negative appears twice in this one statement from the Lord.  Ou Me is used for both “never” and “nor.”  In other words, God is saying “I will never never leave you and I will never never forsake you!”

This is what Jesus has done my friends.  He has given us the constant presence of God!  My friends, settle it in your heart once and for all  —  God will never leave you!  God will never forsake you!  And if you hear from anyone that you can forfeit the presence of God, stop listening.  Jesus is your prosperity, peace, provision and wisdom, and is always with you.  You cannot help but prosper when you realize this, you just have to settle this in your heart!

..For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”   —   Hebrews 13:5

When you are doing right, He is with you.  Even when you have failed, He is still with you!
